Spa School 101 - Spa Features & Accessories

All spas have features and accessories to choose from. Whether you decide to have a spa built-in or purchase a portable spa from a dealer, you will have many options to decide on.

Spa Seating
Consider how many people you want your spa to hold at one time, as well has the function of your seating. Lounge seating provides relaxation in a reclined position and often contains jets at key areas to apply pressure to your neck, back, shoulders, arms, thighs, knees, calves and feet. The lounge seat may take up more space, but for total body therapy it is well worth the extra space.

Spa Lighting
Lighting is one spa feature many people will overlook, but it is very important to have well lit areas for entering and exiting the spa. The lighting can be softened by using colors and can even create an attractive ambiance.

Spa Jets
Jet placement and controllability are things you will want to consider before choosing a spa. Some spas will contain jets that have varying intensity levels, controls that run all jets on the spa at once, or even controls for each seat that work independently. Think about how much control you want over the water pressure as well as the placement of the jets and their adjustability to reach specific pressure points.

Miscellaneous Spa Features
There are many features to choose from that will add enjoyment to your spa use, such as built-in foam pillows or messaging pillows, ice buckets, snack areas, sound systems with CD players, and even built-in flat screen televisions.
